Parking in Žižkov, Prague
Žižkov’s steep, narrow streets and legendary pub density make it a wonderful place to live and a miserable place to park. Add commuters who ditch their cars here to hop on trams into the centre, and free kerb space is essentially fiction.
Street parking and zones
Prague 3 runs paid zones across most of Žižkov: blue for residents, mixed sections for visitors paying by the hour. Around the lower end towards Hlavní nádraží and the Žižkov Tower the pressure is highest. Slopes and cobbles also mean tight, awkward spots that bigger cars simply don’t fit.
Local tips
- Many apartment buildings on the hillside have gated courtyards or garages — private spots here rent well below repeated hourly zone payments.
- Going to a concert at Palác Akropolis or the stadium? Trams 5, 9, 15, 26 mean any booked spot in the district works.
- Watch for cleaning-day signs (blokové čištění) — towing is routine.
