Prague parking signs are the source of truth for the exact street. Colour alone is not enough: the sign can specify operating hours, a time limit, payment method, vehicle category, loading purpose, or an exception. Start with the colour and then read every supplementary panel. Blue zones are associated with residential parking, but visitors may have limited short-term options where the sign allows them. Purple zones are mixed paid areas; orange zones are visitor sections with their own maximum time. The operating hours and payment instructions can vary by street or municipal district, so a rule from yesterday or another neighbourhood is not a substitute.
Check whether the space is reserved for disability permits, deliveries, motorcycles, taxis, K+R, residents, or a particular vehicle. A loading space is not an all-day parking space, and an empty bay next to a sign does not cancel the sign. If the sign is obscured or contradictory, photograph it safely and choose a more certain option rather than guessing.
Pay for the correct place
When online payment is allowed, enter the exact location, registration plate, and duration shown by the official channel. A payment receipt does not repair a wrong plate, wrong street, or expired time.
