Parking host privacy and security: share enough, not everything

July 11, 2026 · Guides for hosts

A useful parking listing should make arrival clear without turning a private home into a public map of keys, routines, and personal details. Hosts can give drivers confidence by separating public information from the access details that belong only to a confirmed booking.

Keep the public listing limited

Show the street approach, entrance shape, parking surface, dimensions, lighting, and the route to the destination. Do not publish access codes, remote serial numbers, keys, alarm details, household schedules, visible faces, number plates, or documents. Crop or retake photos when a mirror, window, letterbox, or sign reveals more than the driver needs.

The parking photo guide explains what to include, and the listing guide helps describe the space without exposing the private context around it. Use the confirmed booking flow for sensitive instructions and share only what is necessary for that arrival.

Set a safe handoff boundary

Decide whether access is self-service, remote, or in person. If a host must meet the driver, say so before payment and avoid publishing a personal number in the listing. If a key or remote changes hands, explain where it is collected and returned, and do not ask a driver to enter a private area that is not part of the reservation.

Keep communication inside the supported booking channel when possible. If something feels wrong—a request for an extra key, an attempt to use another bay, or an unclear identity—pause and use the current support route rather than improvising. The host FAQ and first-booking guide cover common trust questions.

Privacy is part of the product. A driver needs enough information to arrive; a host does not need to publish their entire life to earn a booking. Start or update the listing through the public host page with that boundary in mind.
