Moving into a Prague apartment creates two different parking jobs: a vehicle needs a workable place to load or unload, and it may need a legal place to remain while the move continues. A resident’s address or a new lease does not automatically reserve the street outside the building.
Confirm authority and timing
Ask the building manager, owner, moving company, and the relevant city or district source who controls the access. Check the official Prague parking options and the sign at the street. A delivery box, K+R space, sidewalk, cycle lane, or restricted entrance is not a general moving bay. If a temporary reservation, traffic measure, or permit is needed, arrange it through the current official process rather than improvising cones.
Write a simple move brief: building entrance, lift or stair route, vehicle length and height, loading window, contact person, and the moment the vehicle must leave. A van may fit the street but not the courtyard, ramp, or turning path. Keep the entrance clear for neighbours and emergency access, and do not leave a door or gate open while carrying boxes.
Use a separate space for the long part
If the van or car must remain for several hours, compare an official public option with a private space that explicitly accepts the vehicle and time window. A private booking can reduce circling and protect the unloading schedule, but it does not authorise loading on a public road or block the building entrance. Confirm the surface, access, dimensions, and whether the host permits repeated trips.
