Hotel parking in Prague: plan the arrival, not just the address
A hotel address tells you where you are sleeping. It does not automatically tell you where the car can legally remain. In central Prague, the useful parking decision is often made one or two streets away from the hotel, before you turn into a narrow or restricted street.
Separate unloading from leaving the car
Ask the hotel two different questions: where can guests unload luggage, and where can the vehicle stay overnight? A short stop outside a reception entrance may be possible under the hotel's instructions while long-stay parking on the same street is restricted. Do not treat a luggage drop-off as permission to leave the car there.
For a city break, compare three plans:
- a hotel or commercial garage for the shortest walk;
- a confirmed private spot near the hotel or on the edge of the centre;
- a P+R or metro-connected space when the car will not be needed during the stay.
The right choice depends on luggage, children, mobility, check-in time, and whether you will make day trips. A cheaper space is not cheaper if it adds a difficult transfer after a late arrival.
Check the details before booking
Confirm the walking route with bags, the vehicle height and width, overnight access, the full arrival window, and what happens if check-in runs late. If a private listing uses an approximate map pin, read the access description rather than assuming the hotel entrance is beside the bay. Keep the booking confirmation and the hotel's arrival instructions together.
